What we are doing to reduce our impact on Mother Earth:
- reusing fabric to make into goody bags for registrants
- registrants stuff their goody bags themselves with pamphlets they want (instead of us stuffing the bags)
- leftover pamphlets are given back to sponsors and distributors to use at other conferences
- information about the conference shared via website and e-mail and word of the hands
- use of glass pitchers for drinks and glasses to drink from
- use of ceramic plates, bowls and cups as well as silverware (instead of disposable ones)
- use of handmade items for Silent Auction
- recycle bins placed in the conference rooms
- hotel participates in effort to be ‘green’ (towels, recycle bins in rooms, etc)
- hotel location is close to downtown with bus transportation accessible
- PowerPoints from presenters uploaded online (no paper passed out)
- encouraging people to carpool to/from the conference and to/from downtown
- …and many more!
