KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Shira Grabelsky

Shira Grabelsky, a native New Yorker, lives in Boston working as an educator at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf. She is one of the creators of EcoDeaf, a website that connects eco-conscious Deaf and ASL users through the sharing of resources and ideas about environmental awareness and preservation. She has worked in various sectors including the nonprofit sector, theatre, and currently, education. She stays busy by engaging in various projects such as ASL consulting for theatre productions, mentoring Educational Interpreters, and working with the Massachusetts State Association for the Deaf’s Deaf Youth Outdoor Leadership Program (DYOLP) which targets grade school students. She earned a BA in Psychology from The George Washington University and an Ed.M in Education Policy and Management from Harvard Graduate School of Education.
